about us...

I (Matthew Janzen) claim to be first a student and then a teacher of the Bible.  I understand teachers do incur stricter judgment (JAMES 3:1) and therefore I am very careful in presenting doctrine.  I have been teaching the Bible on a regular basis at a small congregation in Conyers, Georgia for the past four years.  I am happy to say that I enjoy every message I am able to bring forth and thoroughly enjoy studying the Bible in order to determine those things pleasing in the sight of Yahweh.

I am very happily married to my first and only wife Tisha.  She and I have been married now for nine years.  We are the proud parents of four children; Morgen, Benjamin, Elijah, and Rosa’Lyn Janzen.

I was raised in a Bible-believing family and was taught good Christian standards and virtues as a child, as was my wife.  We are very thankful for this and seek to give our children that same teaching in a diligent fashion (DEUTERONOMY 6:4-8).  We do although understand that we must establish a firm belief system for ourselves by not only remembering the things we were taught, but also in reading and studying the Bible for ourselves so as to fully determine what is right and what is wrong.  We have both found some things we once thought were true, were indeed not, when placed against the background of Scriptures.  We feel everyone should read the Bible for themselves and seek to please Yahweh by attending a good Christian Assembly that both loves and fears Yahweh and by partaking as an active member in the body of Messiah.

We also feel that the following points are essential to the faith of the Scriptures; both Old and New Testaments.

  1. We believe the Scriptures are Yahweh’s revealed will for our lives in written form.  They are Almighty-breathed (2 TIMOTHY 3:16) and are the sole authority in matters of faith, practice and morale.

  1. We believe in one Supreme Being (DEUTERONOMY 4:35; 2 SAMUEL 22:32; GALATIANS 3:20; JAMES 2:19), whose proper, personal name is Yahweh (EXODUS 3:15; ISAIAH 42:8; MATTHEW 28:19).

  1. We believe the one Supreme Being is the Heavenly Father, and that He is the one true Mighty One of the universe (JOHN 17:3; JOHN 14:26; 1 TIMOTHY 2:5; 1 CORINTHIANS 8:6).  We also believe this one Mighty One ("God") has an only begotten Son, Yashua the Messiah (MATTHEW 14:33; 16:15-18; MARK 1:1; 1 JOHN 4:15).  This only begotten Son was born of a virgin (MATTHEW 1-2; LUKE 1:35) and is Yahweh's unique Son, second in command over the universe (1 CORINTHIANS 11:3).

  1. We believe the New Covenant has began to be established here on earth (2 CORINTHIANS 3:6; HEBREWS 8:7-12), and is joined by accepting the Son of the Almighty as the way to the Father (JOHN 14:6), and the propitiation for our sins (ROMANS 3:25; 1 JOHN 2:2) by redemption through his blood.

  1. We believe that the forgiveness of sins takes place because of the grace of the Almighty and not because of anything we merit or can accomplish (EPHESIANS 2:8-10; ACTS 15:6-12).  However this does not mean that there are no conditions to meet for salvation.  Salvation happens after one hears the gospel, believes (has faith), repents, confesses and is baptized in water (MARK 16:16; ACTS 2:38, 22:16).

  1. We believe that a forgiven person will not continue in sin (ROMANS 6:1), but obey the commandments of Yahweh (1 JOHN 2:4-6; 3:7; 5:3).

  1. We believe people under the New Covenant should not remain isolated to themselves but be active in a local congregation (HEBREWS 10:25), establishing assemblies (1 CORINTHIANS 11:20; 14:23) overseers (1 TIMOTHY 3:1-7), deacons (1 TIMOTHY 3:8-13) and elders (1 TIMOTHY 5:17-18).

  1. We believe there will be a second coming of Messiah likened unto how he left (ACTS 1:11) in which he will judge both the living and the dead (2 TIMOTHY 4:1) according to their works (REVELATIAN 20:12).  We should therefore strive to live our lives in a pleasing manner towards Yahweh and persuade others knowing that Yahweh’s wrath will be carried out (2 CORINTHIANS 5:10-11).
